  A Meeting of Spirits

The Premise

A Spirits Onymous meeting is a time and a place where kindred Spirits gather to create an oasis of support, light and focus. The meeting is focused on aligning ourSelves with the purpose of our lives: to create a fulfilling and joy-filled existence. We are all Spiritual beings--the outer perimeter of God, Spirit, Cosmos, Allah, Braham--who have taken on physical bodies to expand the very essence of who we are: Divine Consciousness, in all its brilliant facets.

The design of our human experience is both mind-boggling and delightfully simple: we are consistently invited to do what gives us deep joy. That is the path! We owe it to ourSelves and the rest of humanity to follow our passion. When we consistently fill our minds and hearts with what we love and appreciate, we are calling upon the Universe and utilizing the Law of Attraction. Everything becomes possible. Everything.

The only way to create the life you desire and express the greatness that shines in you is through a process of gentle and consistent practice.  Spirits Onymous meetings support you on this transformational journey and bring you in contact with awakening Spirits in your community.

When and Where

Spirits Onymous meetings can be offered any day and anytime: whenever three or more people are committed to meet. The meetings are typically bi-weekly and organized in a public place. Closed meeting may be hosted at someone's home. The host designates a two hour period. The first 15 minutes are used to greet each other and provides a buffer for latecomers. After exactly 15 minutes the facilitator starts. The meeting lasts for approximately 90 minutes.

This 8-minute video gives an impression of a Spirits Onymous Meeting.

Opening

The facilitator briefly welcomes the participants with, “Welcome to Spirits Onymous. My name is ______, I am Spirit and so are You." Then the facilitator requests the participants to review two exercises in their Spirits Onymous Handbooks:  the Gratitude List and the Transformation and Vision Sequence.

Opening Song, Meditation and Reading

The facilitator invites the group to get comfortable, sit back and relax, as they listen to Karen Drucker's, “Blessing to the World,” followed by a guided meditation and a 5-minute quiet meditation. After the meditation period, the facilitator reads an excerpt of one of the 12 Spirits Onymous principles.

Welcome and Discussion

The facilitator reads from the Spirits Onymous Handbook, "Welcome, we are here to embrace our true nature.  I am Spirit, You are Spirit, All is Spirit and All is Well. Participants of this meeting will maintain confidentiality and refrain from giving unsolicited advice.”

After which the facilitator makes a few announcements, rereads the last paragraph of the reading and invites the group to participate in a 15-minute discussion about the principle.

Peer-Coaching

Following the discussion, the group pairs off  for peer-coaching. One person is "the coach" who listens, the other "the client." The couples explore and review a worksheet in the handbook.  Generally, this period takes 14 minutes.  After 7 minutes, the coaches/clients reverse roles.

The pairs are encouraged to continue the peer-coaching process. Once a week, they commit to meet in person or by phone.

The Transformation and Vision Sequence

Following the peer-coaching segment, the participants form a circle and listen to The Transformation and Vision Sequence on CD.

This guided meditation helps the participants to:

  • Further relax and focus

  • Process any unpleasant feelings of the past week and transition into a higher vibrational energy

  • Envision what they want to manifest the coming week

Sharing and Support

The facilitator passes out the “share" and “response" cards. The person who receives the “response card” sits opposite the person with the “share card.”

Group members may talk about:

  • A gratitude

  • Thoughts related to the meditation and/or reading

  • A possible stressful situation that offered an opportunity for spiritual growth

  • What the person wants to manifest the coming week

When the person is done sharing, the group member with the response card leads the group in affirming the greatness of the speaker. “We unconditionally love and support you. You are a wise and powerful creator! You are Spirit and All is Well.”  The facilitator hits a chime as the group members close their eyes envisioning the speaker manifesting what s/he desires.

The person sitting to the left of the speaker is next and receives the share card. Similarly, the response card is passed on clock-wise. As described above, all participants receive an opportunity to speak and be supported.

Closing

In closing, the facilitator asks the participants to stand and hold hands. The group members share in one word what they have gained from participating in the meeting.

The meeting ends with the affirmation, “I am Spirit, You are Spirit, All is Spirit and All is Well."
